Seagrass-Watch Global Seagrass Observing Network is a community-based seagrass monitoring programme.

By bringing citizens and governments together, the methodology utilizes citizen-science to accurately monitor the status and trends in seagrass conditions around the world. This in turn helps us to identify hot-spots – areas that are important for seagrass diversity and conservation.

The website provides a wide selection of downloadable manuals, field guides and tools to support this methodology, including ‘Seagrass Monitoring Guidelines’, which provide detailed information on how to map seagrass status and condition; how to design a monitoring plan; and step-by-step methods for assessing seagrass status, condition and resilience.
